We’re lucky to have (at least) five local candy makers in the area, like Mindo Chocolate Makers, whose bean-to-bar chocolate is made with heirloom beans from farmers they actually know in Ecuador. The folks at Mindo will nurture your chocolateness from all angles. You can enjoy their already-made, luscious chocolate in a variety of forms. Or you can take a class and learn how to make your own chocolate. Mindo products are sold all over town, including the farmer’s market and Zingerman’s–a chocolate tour all by itself. Actually, there’s something for the chocoholic everywhere. Dark chocolate cashew turtles at Kilwins, chocolate balsamic vinegar at Fustini’s , thick Cuban shakes at Frita Batidos and toasty drinking chocolate all over town. Warm, melting cakes, dark chocolate gelato (even vegan!), chocolate pies, chocolate peanut butter pop tarts, chocolate-covered cherries, pretzels, oreos and rice krispie treats. It’s a never-ending chocolate heaven!!
